Intersport PSC Holding, the Swiss licensee of Intersport, records a small profit in its financial year ended Sept. 30. The group’s total turnover melted by 5.0 percent to 201.1 million Swiss francs (€164.7 million) and gross profit dipped by 5.6 percent to CHF 12.2 million (€10.0 million). Earnings before interests and taxes (Ebit) were, however, positive and reached CHF 806,000 (€659,930) compared with a loss of CHF 3.1 million (€2.54 million) in the previous year. During the financial year, the group had to deal with the fact that its largest single account, the retailer Universal Sport, ended its operations. This led to a decline in sales (at retail prices) by CHF 20.6 million (€16.9 million). Additionally, affiliated retailers had to struggle with unpleasant weather conditions and the general decline of retail prices in the country.
