Mammut Sports Group hit a sales increase of 3.4 percent in the first six months of 2014 to reach 103.6 million Swiss francs (€85.4 million) compared with the previous year’s period. The Swiss outdoor company suffered, however, with unfavorable currency effects, in particular against the Japanese yen. Organic growth was 5.7 percent, whereas sales were slightly down in the German speaking region, mainly due to poor snow conditions last winter. The effect however was amply offset thanks to good business in America and Asia. The fastest growing product category was footwear followed by apparel. Mammut’s parent company, Conzzeta, upped total turnover by 3 percent to CHF 554 million (€456.4 million) during the same period.
