Globetrotter, the large Hamburg-based specialty outdoor retailer, opened its new store in Stuttgart, Germany, last Saturday. It has a 4,500-square meter selling surface spread over four floors and is located on Tübinger Straße in the heart of the city. The move accompanies the shutting down of the main Woick store, a regional retailer which Globetrotter acquired last February. The new owner decided to close Woick’s main store, but to retain three other shops which are located in the region. Woick’s sales last year were €12.5 million.
Simultaneously, Globetrotter launched its new mobile shop which is optimized for all mobile devices and browsers. For the Stuttgart store, the chain offers a click & collect service, allowing customers to purchase online and to pick up the merchandise in the brick-and-mortar-store.
