Columbia Sportswear has announced the appointment of two top executives. Steve Woodside is to take up the newly created position of vice president in charge of global manufacturing and supply chain. Woodside most recently acted as vice president at VF Corporation from Hong Kong where he oversaw the group’s footwear sourcing and manufacturing. Before joining VF, he served Nike during 23 years.
Effective Oct. 6, Stuart Redsun will join Columbia in the new position of chief marketing officer. Previously, he held top marketing positions at Under Armour and Nike. In connection with the two appointments, Columbia announced that Dan Hanson, vice president global marketing, and Patrick Werner, vice president of global apparel manufacturing are to retire. Both of them plan will be on hand to ensure a smooth transition after 25 and ten years, respectively, with the Portland-based outdoor company.
