Effective Oct. 1, Lovro Mandac has handed over his position as chief executive Galeria Kaufhof to his successor. Mandac has served the German department and sporting goods chain for more than 20 years. The 64-year-old now takes over the position of chairman of Kaufhof’s supervisory board, previously held by Mark Frese, chief financial officer of Kaufhof’s parent company, Metro.
Additionally, Mandac will retain his position as CEO at Galeria Holding, the company under whose roof the retail and real estate operations of the chain are bundled. Mandac’s successor at the operational helm of Galeria Kaufhof is Olivier Van den Bossche. The 38-year-old has run the operations of Galeria Inno, the retailer’s operator of department stores in Belgium.
