The German section of Sport 2000 has seen a large number of new retailers join the group in 2014. Compared to the previous year, the number of affiliated enterprises grew by 70 to a total of 805. The increase came partly from the strategy to invest in specialized retailers, in particular the outdoor, team sports and running sectors. Retail turnover for the members grew by 3.9 percent, and centralized invoicing jumped by 9.2 percent. While business was hampered by poor snow conditions, the retailers enjoyed excellent sales in soccer products. The German soccer team’s triumph helped sales of their new white jerseys featuring a fourth star. Almost 25 percent of these were sold through Sport 2000 stores.
