Under Armour has not shown major ambitions in the European market so far, but it would seem that the skyrocketing U.S. brand is getting focused on this part of the world. As a matter of fact, UA has signed Memphis Depay, the Dutch soccer boy wonder, as one of its endorsements.
Depay plays as a winger at legendary soccer club PSV Eindhoven, in the Netherlands. He became the youngest Dutchman to score a goal at the World Cup, at the age of 20 years in Brazil last summer. His Dutch national team made it to rank #3 at the world’s most important sports event. In the first league of the Netherlands, the Eredivisie, Depay is currently the top scorer with 15 goals. His endorsement with UA is effective March 1. He joins Under Armour’s band of top athletes including Lindsey Vonn, Andy Murray and Jermaine Jones.
