Zalando raises full year outlook after strong first quarter

Zalando, the online retailer has reported an increase in sales by 28.5 percent to €644 million for the first three months of the year compared with the previous year’s period. Earnings before interests and taxes was positive at €25.1 million, while it was negative at €27.9 million in the first quarter of 2014.

Active customer numbers increased by 14 percent to 15.4 million, while the average gross spending was up by 11 percent to €193 per person. Following good results in the first quarter, the Berlin-based retailer raised its outlook to the higher end or even above the original sales increase by 20-25 percent for the full financial year.
