GoPro chief fulfills nine figure pledge to friend

GoPro_AwardsHomePromoNick Woodman, reportedly the best-paid chief executive in the U.S., has honored the terms of a decade old agreement with Neil Dana, his roommate when they were at University in San Diego, California. At the time, the deal was reportedly that Woodman would pay Dana 10 percent for every sold share in the firm that later became GoPro, the specialist action camera brand.

After GoPro’s initial public offering last year, Woodman was serious about meeting the terms of his verbal agreement with Dana, who was actually GoPro’s first employee. According to Bloomberg, the pledge was honored by Woodman selling 4.7 million shares worth a total of $229 million.
