The iconic Spanish soccer club is targeting higher sales of its merchandise in China through a far-reaching collaboration with Alibaba, the domestic e-commerce behemoth.

“El Real” revealed plans to open its own virtual store on Tmall, China’s equivalent to Amazon. Still ahead of its local archrival, Tencent, Alibaba runs the two most important retail platforms which are Tmall and Taobao, a Chinese version of eBay.
