Recognizing the necessity that something needs to be done to enhance outdoor participation across Europe, the European Outdoor Group (EOG) has launched, a new campaign to address the public and promote outdoor activities.
EOG members have donated equipment worth more than €20,000 to encourage fellow Europeans to go outdoors. The gear is meant to attract more outdoor enthusiasts through a series of social media competitions and a dedicated online platform.
From now until September, the campaign will target social media networks with three hashtag competitions, encouraging members of the public to post outdoor themed photos, videos and comments relating to a series of topics. The campaign will culminate in a public vote to select the best contributions. These competitions will build up to the first European Week of Sport from Sept. 7-13 September, during which ‘outdoor’ is going to be one of the four focal topics.
