The Californian marketer of footwear has decided to establish its own subsidiary for some 30 Latin American smaller markets with a focus on Central America. The wholly owned firm will be located in Panamá (Ciudad). Skechers intends to open four showrooms in the markets which are said to have priority: Panamá, Costa Rica, Colombia and Perú. The 21 single-brand stores, previously run by a distributor, will be transitioned to the subsidiary.
Skechers Latin America LLC can rely on staff of Dabsan International which ran Skecher’s for almost 20 years and led it, at some point, to the U.S. brand’s most important foreign region under the leadership of Daniel Bassan, who will assist the new subsidiary.
