Adidas’ chief executive Herber Hainer has publicly denied a rumor which says that the Three Stripes would be willing to accept a 10-year deal worth €1 billion with the DFB, the German soccer federation. While it is clear that the value of the German national teams has not dropped since the men secured the world cup and the women the European championship, the company made clear that it was not ready to pay simply any price.

Currently, Adidas pays the DFB €25 million a year as the federation’s official sponsor – which comes to €250 million for the entire decade. The current contract expires after the next world cup to be held in Russia in 2018.
